    MENLO PARK, April 24, - At 1p.m. Tuesday death robbed our community of one of its pioneers. Wm. Mitton Sr. Born in Kentucky seventy years ago, he had all the physical vigor common to the natives of the Blue Grass State. he was perhaps one of the best read men in of our community and figured interestingly in many an argument for the town's welfare. A carpenter by trade, he came to Menlo in its early buliding days and the palatial residences of Latham, Flood and others are monuments in some degree to his mechanical skill. He leaves a widow and a grown-up family. Many of us will miss the benevolent face and hopeful word of the old Kentuckian.

          Andres Molina, 54, Wages Battle for Life Today
          Andres Molina , 54-year-old Mountain View rancher, is near death in the Community Hospital, Beresford, today, following an unsucessful attempt to board a fast Newark-bound Southern Pacific freight train, last night.
          The accident occurred near the Middlefield road, opposite the National Magnesiam Company plant, just outside the city limits of Redwood City's shortly before 8 o'clock.
          Molina attempted to board the train while under motion. He succeeded in catching hold of a rung at the side of the box car, where he hung until exhausted. Losing his grip, he fell to the tracks and under the wheels of a box car.
          Both legs were severed just above the knee.
          Chief of Police C. L. Collins, Officers Clyde Genochio and W. H. Thorpe of the Redwood City Police Department, and Deputy Sheriff Joseph Meeks, who were called, picked up the injured man and rushed him to the Redwood City Emergency Hospital.
          After first-aid treatment by Dr. Harper Peddicord, Molina was taken to the Community Hospital.

              Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Ann Monroe, 81, who died Wednesday in San Francisco, will be held at the chapel of Tinney & Layng at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon. Internment will be in Union Cemetery. The Rev. C. A. Parker of the Baptist Church will officiate.
              Mrs. Monroe, who lived on Seventh avenue, by Fair Oaks, is survived by Leonard A. and Ward E. Monroe of Redwood City, Jack E. Monroe of Los Angeles and Mrs. Ina Stevenson, a daughter, of England.
