Palo Alto Times, Friday Jul 4, 1902
            George G. Quinn
The sad news was received last night of the death of George G. Quinn at St. Mary's hospital, San Francisco, at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. He was 21 years of age the 3rd of November, and until a few months ago and enjoyed perfect health. He contracted a cold which developed into pneumonia and when partially recovered he suffered a relapse. Throat trouble followed and it was this which caused his death. He was taken to the hospital on Sunday last.
George was a son of Mr. and Mrs. John L Quinn and was born in Pescadero but had spent most of his life in Mayfield and Palo Alto. During his high school days he became a prominent as an athlete and was one of the best baseball players of this section. He was a faithful student, energetic in business affairs and much liked by all who knew him. His mother, four brothers (L. J., Charles, Albert, and Fred F.) and two sisters (Mrs. Elizabeth Adams and Miss Nellie Quinn) survive him. The heartfelt sympathy of all is with them.

              Feb 10, 1899
The funeral of Judge John L. Quinn was held at the family residence, on Forest avenue, at 1:30 yesterday afternoon and the interment was in Union cemetery at Redwood City, under the auspices of the G. A. R. of which he was an honored member.

Judge Quinn was seventy-five years old and had been in failing health for several years past so that an attack of la grippe was followed by death after a few days sickness.

Deceased was born in Ireland and came to California in 1867, since which time he has lived at Pescadero and Mayfield, thus being one of the early pioneers of this section, and was able to give most interesting account of the development of this peninsula. At the expiration of his term of office as justice of the peace he removed from Mayfield to Palo Alto, where he built a handsome residence about three years ago.

He leaves a widow and a family of grown children, several of whom are married. His daughter Elizabeth, wife of Prof. Maxwell Adams of the Chico State Normal School, came down to attend the funeral.
