Drowned in the bay
Bernard Anderson aged 19 years, the son of August Anderson, foreman of the Morgan Oyster Company's beds at Dumbarton, was drowned in the bay Saturday. The unfortunate young man was on one of the company's barges which was being towed and accidentally fell over-board. He was unable to swim and before help could reach him, sank. The bay was dragged and on Sunday the body was recovered. The deceased was interred in Union Cemetery Monday, Deputy James Cronk held an inquest Monday evening and after hearing the testimony of the father and others who witnessed the accident, a verdict of accidental death was returned by the jury.

Charles Anderson Rites Wednesday
Funeral services for Charles Anderson, 63, who died in the San Mateo relief home Saturday night, will be held from the George Sneider chapel Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with interment at the Union Cemetery, Redwood City.
Anderson, who had lived in Redwood City for the past forty-five years, went to the relief home four months ago. He had been ill six months before passing away.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Mary Auld of San Bruno, and two sons, James Anderson and Bernard Anderson, both of Redwood City.

James Anderson, formerly well known here as Captain of the busy schooners and wood dealer, died in San Francisco Thursday evening of dropsy. Mr. Anderson was one of the pioneers in boating on Redwood Creek and was at one time owner of several vessels. Later he went into business in wood and coal, but not succeeding, sold out and moved to San Francisco where he has since been living.
Deceased was a member of the Metamora Tribe of Redmen and Redwood City lodge No. 25, ACUW. Captain James Anderson was buried in the Redman plot in Union Cemetery.

Captain John Anderson who for the past seven years has made his home with Herman Anderson, died on Monday, his 72nd birthday. The deceased was a native of Sweden, and came to California in 1854. He was one of the earliest bay navigators and ran a schooner from San Francisco to Sacramento long before the railroad was built. Deceased leaves a wife in Oakland. The funeral took place Wednesday forenoon, the interment being in Union Cemetery.
