Obituary
Accidently Drowned
Within the last few months Woodside has been the scene of several accidents. All accidents are in a measure sad, yet the last recorded seems to be the saddest of all. Mr. Haaf, a man nearly 80 years of age, who had lived and worked for Mr. J. Winkler for a number of years, while attempting to fill a bottle with water at the creek, fell into the stream, and, it is supposed , drowned wthout being able to arise or assist himself in any way. Mr. Haaf was the father in law of Henry Monath, who lived in Woodside for many years. He leaves two grandchildren to mourn his untimely death, Helen and Lena Monath, the former a dressmaker in San Francisco and the latter living in Santa Clara.
