ALFRED JOHN BEER CROSSES DEATH'S PORTAL
Alfred J. Beer, for thirty years a resident of Redwood City passed away at his home on Monroe street Tuesday after a long illness. Few of the old residents who have lately dropped out of the scene of worldly activity will be missed more than the genial old carpender whose sunny disposition and kindly way had made him popular with all. The deceased was a man of strong character and fixed opinions. He was honest and reliable in all his dealings. He was a striking example of the strudy workman and skilled in the occupation that he followed through life. With him, whatever was worth doing was worth doing well and thus he wrought, leaving his moments the results of his toil faithfully done.
Mr. Beer was a native of England, aged 63 years. Besides his wife he leaves to mourn him, the following sons and daughters:
George F., Herbert F., Harry P., Leland M., Edwin S., and Webster F. Beer, Mrs. O. Johnson, Mrs. Phil Hillebrand, Mrs. Irby Lowe and Miss Florence Beer.
The funeral will take place Saturday at Cypress Lawn by train leaving this city at 12:15.
