SUCIDE IN COLMA HILLS
Joseph Fanger Was the Unforntunate Found Last Week
The letter, accompiated by a map, received by Cornorer Crowe last Wednesday containing information of the finding of a body near Colma by a correspondent who concealed his identity, proved to be genuine, and disclosed the resting place of an unforntunate who died by his own hand.
The remains were located by Deputy Cornorer Cunningham, who used the map as a guide, Saturday afternoon, in the hills west of Colma, and had to be carried on horseback three-quarters to a wagon road. A revolver lying close by and a gaping wound in the head of the deceased, told the cause of death. Mr. Cunningham held an inquest and shipped the body, which was badly decomposed, to this city for burial.
Tuesday morning Casper Kleser of Colma, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Fuere of Ocean View, came down and identified the remains as those of Joseph Fanger, a brother of the latter. The deceased, who had been employed as a milker at Daly's dairy near the county line, had been missing since December 22nd. He had become despondent through ill health. Fanger was a native of Switzerland, aged 32 years. He was buried Tuesday in Union Cemetery.
