Mrs. Anna M. Paulsen, wife of Paul Paulsen, passed away at her home in this city Saturday after a painful illness of four months. She was a native of Schleswig, Germany, and was married at her birthplace in 1865, shortly afterward removing to California. Besides her husband eleven grownup children survive her, who as follows: Paul, George, Alex, Frank, Harry, Jasper, Mrs. Fair, Mrs. Hansen, Mita, Alice and Anna. She was buried Monday in Union Cemetery, Rev. F. H. Maar, holding services at the home. Mrs. Paulsen had resided in Redwood for thirty-three years. She was a loving wife and mother and a kind neighbor who will long be missed by family and friends.

        Paul Paulsen, one of the oldest and best known residents of this city and county, passed to his final reward early yesterday at his home near Five Points. Death followed a lingering illness, with members of Paulsen's family at his bedside.
        Paulsen was a native of Denmark and was 85 years and 5 months old at the time of his death. He had resided in Redwood City for more than 40 years, being widely active in all matters of civil nature here. He was a retired man, one of the weathiest in the district.
        Paulsen was the husband of the late Annie M. Paulsen, and leaves to mourn his passing a large family of sons and daughters, including Jaspar W., Paul, George, Alexander, Frank and Harry Paulsen and Mrs. William Peterson, Mrs. F. H. Shottler, Mrs. H. C. Hanson, and Mrs. Alice Curran.
        The body of Paulsen is at the funeral home of the James Crowe Undertaking Company, where services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment will be in Union Cemetery.
