Albert Beeson, Resident Here 81 Years, Dies
Former Mill Wright Came to State While Baby
Albert Yancy Beeson, 82, who had lived in San Mateo county since he was a baby expect for about 10 years while he was still a child, died early Saturday evening at his home, 106 Buckeye street, following a period of declining health.
Born in New Boston, Ill, Mr. Beeson was brought to California in a covered wagon train when he was six months old. His parents settled near the town of Searsville, engaging in the lumber business. When Mr. Beeson was about 6 years of age, his parents moved to Sonoma county, residing there about 10 years. They then returned to Redwood City, and since that time Mr. Beeson had lived in this vicinity continually.
A mill wright by trade, Mr. Beeson had been retired for nearly 40 years.
The deceased, the brother of Mrs. Alice A. Allen and Miss Ella V. Beeson, both of Redwood City, was a member of Bayview Lodge No. 109, Indepdendent Order of the Odd Fellows, having held his membership in that organization for a half century.
Mr. Beeson attended the Congregational Church, he had never married.
Funeral services, conducted by the Odd Fellows' Lodge, were held this afternoon from the Layng & Tinney Funeral Home. Interment followed at the family plot in Union Cemetery.
