ERNEST BEERMAN
Died on a road.
Coroner Crowe received word late last Wednesday night of the finding of a dead body of Ernest Beerman near the ranch of F.W. Wcesshaar in the Alpine district and by his direction Justice Welch drove out there Thursday and held an inquest on the body. The testimony showed that Beerman, who was a German aged 57 years, had been last seen about 9 o'clock Wednesday morning. He was found about 3 o'clock that afternoon by J.E. Sicker, as the latter was returning from La Honda, lying beside the road with a demijohn and bag and his dog nearby. Seeker drove on and informed Andrew Stingel and together they returned and removed the body to Weisshaar's ranch. Thence they went to Mayfield and informed Coroner Crowe. Beerman had evidently had a hemorrhage immediately after climbing a steep hill and gone to the side of the road, rested his head upon his arms and quietly bled to death. There were no evidence of a struggle. Several persons at the inquest testified to the facts in the case and A.T. Dowd stated that he had known Beerman ever since he came to this country, fifteen years ago. He thought he had come from Wisconsin. The jury decided the death was due to a hemorrhage arising from natural causes. Beerman left no family and nothing is known of his family. He leaves no property. For fifteen or twenty years, he has been in the neighborhood of Page's mill and at one time he was in partnership in the farming business with a man named Cooper. The body was brought to Redwood City by Justice Welch and was interred yesterday.
