Mr. and Mrs. Birkett of Mayfield lost their little 3-year-old daughter on Tuesday evening of last week, by drowning in the McCloud river in Siskiyou county. The funeral was held family residence Saturday afternoon. Rev. D. Charles Gardner officiating. The interment took place in Union Cemetery Saturday.
