BURIAL OF WALTER BARGER
Entire Community Moved by to Sympathy Over Sad Event
Union Cemetery, which has been the place of many tearful partings of loved ones, had one of it's most affecting scenes last Thursday when little Walter Barger, the boy who was drowned was placed into his grave. Six young boys bore the white casket in which the boy was reposed to and from the hearse and assisted in the at the final solemn disposition of the body at the cemetery.
Rev. J. J. Martin conducted services at the family residence on Main st. and a choir rendered in a touching manner those tearful songs, "Safe in the Arms of Jesus", and "Shall we Gather at the River". Many beautiful floral pieces were sent to the stricken home expressive of the deep sorrow of the community and the large attendence both at the house and at the graveyard evidenced the sympathy that was felt for the afflicted mother and a desire lighten her burden of grief.
Mrs. Barger is deeply moved at the many acts of sympathy and assistance tendered by her friends and neighbors during her trouble and desires through the columns of this paper to express her heartfelt thanks to all.
