REDWOOD CITY MAN KILLED BY AUTO
Anders M. Andreasen, one of the owners of the Union Taxicab Company, operating between San Mateo and Palo Alto, and the secretary of the San Mateo County Taxicab Association, was killed last Saturday afternoon, when he was struck by an automobile driven by H. Levy of Burlingame, on the State highway, just this side of Atherton.
The accident that caused Andreasen's death was a peculiar one. He was on his way to Palo Alto, when he met one of the cars coming north. He got out to give some directions to the driver and in returning to his own machine, stepped directly in front of the Levy car, which was also traveling north.
Andreasen was rushed to the Redwood City Hospital, and Dr. Chaplin called, but the injured man died half an hour after the accident. His skull had been fractured.
The remains were removed to the James Crowe Undertaking parlors on Webster street, where an inquest was conducted by Coronor W. A. Brooke Monday morning, the verdict of the jury being in accordance with above facts, and exonorating Levy of any blame.
Andreasen's home was on Claremont avenue, Wellesley Park, this city. He leaves a widow, Mrs. Irene Andreasen, and two small children, William L. and Anders M. Andreasen Jr. He was a native of Denmark and was 32 years of age. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon from the James Crowe Undertaking parlors, where services were conducted at 2 o'clock'. The interment was in Union Cemetery.
