Obituary

Ernest's mother was Mrs. Lizal according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
He died of of inanition and exposure while in the Oakland 4th District County Jail at the age of 19 years old and was initially interred in 17-5/46-Ave Section in the Odd Fellows Cemetery in San Francisco.
Ernest is seen in 1880 living in San Francisco with the family of Elizabeth Searight and her four children all born in Ireland. Elizabeth was a widowed Music Teacher and Ernest was warded to her.
He was removed from the Odd Fellows Cemetery in San Francisco during the 1930's and placed in the Greenlawn Memorial Park.
In 2021, his headstone was found in a construction dumpster in San Carlos and was brought to the Union Cemetery where it was placed in the IOOF section of the cemetery.
