Obituary

JOSEPH WEICHER
Redwood City Democrat
November 30, 1905

Joseph Weicher, the barkeeper at the “OK” Saloon, while temporarily insane, jumped from the second story of the Del Monte Hotel shortly after midnight Tuesday and was painfully injured. Weicher has been drinking heavily for several months and began to act queerly. Tuesday he was put to bed and given a quieting draught. During the night he was aster and talking excitedly to imaginary intruders and waked Mr. Luscher, who was in the act of going to his room to quiet him, when he threw up his window and sprang out, falling in the small alley along side the building.
When Weicher struck the ground, he set up an outcry that aroused the inmates of the hotel and attracted the attention of Watchman Coleman who was near by. Help was quickly at hand and he was carried back to his room and Dr. Ross was called to attend him. It is thought that the unfortunate man, who is quite heavy, suffered internal injuries.
Weicher has been a resident for about four years. He is a tanner by trade but has not worked for the past few months. He has an income from mining and mortgage investments.
